Adult Religious Education: OCIA/RCIA

(Sacramental Ministries)

Life is a journey in which we find ourselves defining and redefining who we are, what we believe, where we are going and what is most important in our lives. Often we find ourselves reflecting on our relationship with the Church and what it means to be a member of a faith community. Thus, adults come seeking the sacraments of Baptism, First Communion, Reconcilliation, and Confirmation at different times in their lives.

Motivations for seeking the sacraments vary from person to person. The church is here to welcome you and support you on your journey.

The Order of Christian Initiation of Adults (it was called the Rite of Christian Initiation of Adults until Nov. 2021) is a process for non-Catholic adults to learn more about the Catholic Church and join the Catholic faith if they so decide; it is also for baptized Catholics who have not yet received their First Confession, First Communion, and/or Confirmation.

If you wish to become a Catholic, or to receive any Sacraments that you have not yet received, or to be baptized into the Catholic Church as an adult, contact Deacon Charles Gallegos of this parish. Classes will begin in late August and will continue each Thursday evening until Easter, when our Bishop Weisenburger will confer the Sacraments on all catechumens and candidates. All classes are for adults 18 years of age or older, and will be in English.

For more information please contact the parish office.
