What motivates people to migrate?
What happens once they are detained by immigration authorities?
How hard is it to get released?
How can we support our community members who are locked up in remote detention facilities?
Every day we hear stories about immigration in the news, and it can be difficult to separate fact from fiction. Carmen Smith-Estrada will address these questions In her presentation on the work of the Florence Immigrant and Refugee Rights Project. The Florence Project is the only nonprofit organization providing access to justice for detained immigrants in Arizona.
Theology Uncorked is a free program for theological reflection, good conversation, delicious wines and fresh popcorn! This program is offered usually on the first Monday of each month with presentations, movies, etc., which allow us to further examine our lives as it relates to Christ’s teachings. You are welcome to bring snacks or a bottle of wine to share as we delve into our theology! All are welcome to join us!
