Theology Uncorked – Welcoming the Stranger

Welcoming the Stranger - Our Call to Faith and Action

Monday, April 1, 2019
PARISH HALL
6:30pm

Marguerite Harmon, M.S., CEO Catholic Community Services of Southern Arizona, Inc.

The tradition of welcoming the stranger begins in the Jewish faith tradition and extends into our current Catholic social teaching. We may question where does this duty of welcome begin and end. How do we understand the current contexts for both faith and action regarding immigration and asylum seeking when the topic has become so divisive in our communities and in our Church? This talk will provide an opportunity to explore the foundations of this work, the political policy issues facing those of us who wish to follow our faith and how the faith community of Tucson has responded.

Theology Uncorked is a free program for theological reflection, good conversation, delicious wines and fresh popcorn! This program is offered usually on the first Monday of each month with presentations, movies, etc., which allow us to further examine our lives as it relates to Christ's teachings. You are welcome to bring snacks or a bottle of wine to share as we delve into our theology! All are welcome to join us!
